18th October - Police Training Centre, Alconbury

Before taking part in any police patrol duties, recruits undergo an initial training course. The course is over a 16 week period and consists of a combination of classroom based learning and online training packages.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary has a local police learning and development training facility in the parish of Abbots Ripton, near Alconbury known as Monks Wood.

Cambridgeshire Constabulary’s newest recruits were welcomed by the Chief Constable at a passing out ceremony. The parade was inspected by the High Sherriff of Cambridgeshire Dr Bharat N Khetani. The High Sheriff was later given a tour of the facilities by Chief Inspector John Massey.
