1st May 2023 - Reach Village Fair

The village is the scene of the Reach Fair, one of England's oldest festivals. In 1201 King John granted a charter for the holding of a fair in Reach and it has taken place ever since, year by year, through the good times and the not so good times.
According to original custom, it will be opened by the Mayor of Cambridge accompanied by the Aldermen in full regalia. Another custom in the fair is for the Mayor and other councillors to throw pennies into the crowd for the young people.
